She Died of Beauty

Hello guys,

I am still posting pictures from LFW! And I know you must be wondering about this picture... supermodel Erin O'Connor was at LFW launching her brand new label.

'She Died of Beauty' is a new label created by Erin O'Connor with her friend stylist Kate Halfpenny.

It's based on a simple collection of 5 cool t-shirts and 2 bags, with a play on the brand name, in their own words, "the very visual nature of fashion is to manipulate and exaggerate almost everything".

The usual peep:

All pieces are made ethically and with organic materials. "After all, there’s no reason why style and conscience can’t co-exist!", say the duo.

Obviously, it was a huge surprise to see Erin O'Connor there... She was really, really lovely and kindly posed with me for the blog. A real star indeed!

See you soon.

Car boot chic

Hello guys,

Tonight, I am sharing with you some great pictures taken at the 'Mary Living and Giving' charity shop.

Last week if you were around Westfields you might have seen this great event, the Car boot chic by Mary Portas. Up for grabs there were Chanel bags and some gorgeous vintage pieces, that you would normally stumble across at this exclusive charity shop.

Who is she? Well, you will see her in tomorrow's post!

The gorgeous window, with those beautiful taffeta dresses...

Some love and quirky jewellery and accessories.

The star buy, as per Grazia, this amazing Ralph Lauren embellished blouse!

Fun and colourful head wear by Alva.

Marina Rink, author of the 'Isabella Blow' book, was there signing up copies and had a quick chat with me. Rink, was Isabella’s assistant and is now the director of Fashion Spotlight, Berlin. The book has iconic portraits by Testino and many other famous fashion photographers, also including personal letters written exclusively by Valentino and Anna Wintour to name a few.

It was a great night!

Visit: Living and giving, 177 Westbourne Grove.

Kinder Aggugini at London Fashion Week Sept 2010

Hi guys,

These are my last pictures, from the shows of the weekend. I still have loads more to post about London Fashion Week... from amazing footwear to loads of street style pictures, a couple of fashion events and not forgetting I still have to announce the giveaway winner... so bear with me and stay tuned!

Tonight I'm posting pictures from Kinder Aggugini's show. The show was held on Sunday 19th, at Somerset House.

The inspiration for the designer was a book, in which an explorer travels to Africa. Therefore the use of print and colours was bold and very much present even in romantic dresses. I particularly loved the last dress pictured and the accessories, specially the huge African inspired ring necklaces, made all in leather.

And the last of my videos on LFW.

Hope you all enjoyed!

See you soon.

'Fashion Mode' at London Fashion Week Sept 2010

Hi guys,

More pictures from LFW and also some videos (I'm getting addicted to videos now!)

Four new designers displayed their collections at the 'Fashion Mode', which is a London Fashion Week showcase in conjunction with Vauxhall Fashion Scout. The show was yesterday, Sunday 19th.

Let's go... 2 collections for the ladies and 2 for the gents. Yes! Boys get their turn at PPortobello.
Enjoy!

Florian Jayet

Jayet describes his general style as inspired by the futuristic concepts of Paco Rabanne and Thierry Mugler. (Oh yes, I can see a lot of Mugler indeed!)
The inspiration was to use the garments as armour, much like an exoskeleton.

Amazingly constructed garments...

And a quick video, of the end of the show.

Carlotta Barone

The collection was called 'wear my skin' and it's idea is to fight against the racism.

I loved this 'tattooed' skin body, used throughout the show.

The designer Carlotta Barone on the catwalk with a model.

And another quick video!

...And some for the boys...

Elson Figueiredo

His collection was inspired by the people who would travel with circuses and amusements shows. He describes his pieces as a mish-mash of casual workwear and traditional tailoring.

James Hillman

James Hillman based his collection on the 'Teddy boy' look. Interesting choice of fabrics mixing perceptions of masculine and feminine through using silk, leather, chiffon and jersey.

So what do you guys think of the new designers? Have you already got a favourite?

John Rocha at LFW

Hi guys,

It's London Fashion week and today I was at Somerset House. It was so cool just to be there taking pictures for street style and catching up with friends.

Unexpectedly, I ended up getting a ticket for the John Rocha show, on the very last minute and got in just before the show got started!
The collection was very minimalistic. Dresses were predominant, loads of transparency with the clever use of crochet and net. Colours were basic, black, white and cream and the accessories were huge with these meringue hats. The shoes were gorgeous!

I also did a quick video, just of the end of the show.

And it doesn't stop there, I was glad I spotted Marian Kihogo. I have been a fan of her blog for while and we also chat via the blogsphere... So, it was just lovely to meet her in person!

Well, that is it for today. I'll see you all tomorrow.
