McQueen- Savage Beauty

Hi guys,

Some great news coming up in NYC or for anyone passing by the Big Apple around May/ July. Iconic designs by Alexander McQueen will be on display at the Metropolitan Museum NY from the 4th of May until the 31st of July, the exhibition will be called Savage beauty.
From his early days, looking back at his post graduation collection in 1992 from Central Saint Martins London, up to his latest collection (which was only presented after his death) in February 2010.

There approximately 100 of his most extraordinary catwalk outfits, from his own personal archive in London and also some pieces from the Givenchy archive from Paris as well as pieces from private collections round the globe.

Here's the usual peep!

This exhibition will be really unmissable and I am very jealous! I am hoping and praying for it to come to the UK too.

See you soon.

Shoes at London Fashion week - Street Style

Hi guys,

London fashion week is a real display of cool shoes. In fact, there were some amazing, really head turning shoes around... so I decided to point my camera in a different way and anonymously take some pictures of people's feet!

- Click on the image to enlarge.

OMG! I could not believe when I came across these hoof heelless shoes, must be hard to walk on them.

What a fantastic heel, I totally loved these.

These looked and sounded cool as she walked passed.

Acrylic shoes, some love, some hate.

A fun pair of satin green ankle boots.

Flavour of the moment.

See you soon.

Heidi London Sunglasses - LFW

Hi guys,

Before I post the pictures from some of the fashion shows at London fashion week, I just had to share with you these amazing sunglasses!

I had so much fun with Heidi, the designer. As you can see I didn't give her much of a rest because I had to try most of her gorgeous designs.
Heidi London, it's a cool brand selling really funky, colourful frames and sunglasses. They have recently paired with Zeiss, a well renowned German photographic company to produce the most high quality lenses, which will not only make you so stylish but will protect your eyes. A lot of people forget that sunglasses are not just for fashion, for example I would never buy any cheap plastic sunglasses from anywhere, ever, because I do think of my eyes, always.

So here they are, lovely kooky frames made of limited edition vintage material sourced in Hong Kong. Each pair is handmade to evoke individuality and it certainly does!

This is the ONE I fell in love with! The aqua colour is so flattering on my skin.

This style is perfect for me and I want one in every single colour!

I hope you guys have enjoyed it, for stockist and further details please check her website.

See you soon.

Holly Fulton - LFW Exhibition

Hi guys,

There is so much going on at Fashion week that is hard to keep up. I was around Somerset House again and had a great time, once more meeting loads of people. I bumped into a good friend of mine and we went to watch some of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout shows, it was cool. Pictures and posts soon will follow.

Anyways, apart from the fashion shows there is also an exhibition going on, where upcoming labels display their collections for future buyers. So over the next few days I'll be giving you guys a peep at some of these.

Starting with Holly Fulton.

I really adored these dresses, beautifully embellished with glass beads. They have such an art deco feel to them and are absolutely stunning.

And her jewellery is also incredible! I want those cuffs and the necklace.

Her new collection for A/W 2011 will be on the 20th at 9:45 am.
See you soon.

Street Style - London Fashion Week

Hi guys,

Today was the first day of London Fashion week and it was very exciting to be hanging around Somerset House, catching up with friends, feeling inspired by the all the different amazing looks, taking pictures and meeting new people. (And indeed I met some really cool people today!)

Here are some of my favourite looks of LFW day one!

-Click on the image to enlarge.

Sandra, from 5 inch and up.
It was lovely to meet her. She has an amazing blog and she is really sweet and well stylish as we all know!

It was great to bump into Marian Kihogo, she looks great even though she just got back from NY fashion week.

Holly, from hollyheartmode.
She really gave me the inspiration to wear my still untouched Chanel hysteria lipstick and I loved her bag too.

Fashion blogger, Peony Lim.
Wearing a classic black blazer and a lovely leopard bag, she could not go wrong.

Natalie, from Charbon London.
She looks fab with this 70's inspired look (and I totally have recognized her necklace from one of my previous posts.)

Fashion designer, Star Hu.
Omg! her boots are to die for...

Fashion student, Caroline.
Also went for the dark lipstick trend with a very colourful outfit.

And shearling jackets were all over the place...

Hope you have enjoyed!

See you soon.

Street Style

Fridays @ Portobello

A post with loads of fur!

-Click on the image to enlarge.

Sasha, at Regent Street.
I really loved this outfit, it's both hot and cosy at the same time. On the back of her jacket there is a beautiful shearling panel which goes amazingly well with her gorgeous ankle boots. The colours are well mixed, perfect!

Karishma, near Portobello Road.
Breaking the all over black look with a great faux fur gilet and a colourful scarf, plus a pair of vertiginous heels! Fab.

Victoria, on Portobello Road.
She really pulled this one of and the mix of leopard print, aviator jacket and bowler hat, looks very cute and kooky.

Alex, on Portobello Road.
Wearing another lovely fur gilet (proving they are still so much in season and are ever so popular on Portobello) with a pair of patent brogues. Very cool.

See you soon.

Hi guys,

I told you guys on my last post how I was very pleased with my pictures taken with my new Samsung phone. Which is very exciting because I used to have an old Blackberry (with no camera) that used to give me real headaches and I was really much in need of a new phone. A modern lady look

Hi guys,

Today's outfit is a little bit lady like with some twists. This skirt is quite funny and it's another weird Vivienne Westwood creation. On the back, it's a pair of shorts with elasticated legs, it's like that all the way around but covering it at the front you have this long piece of fabric which looks like a parachute. Once, I was walking on the street when a lady came shouting behind me 'excuse me, excuse me' and I was like 'hi' and she said, 'your skirt got stuck on your knickers (!)' and I was laughing saying 'no, no it's supposed to be like that'...
To avoid this effect nowadays I wear it differently like you can see here, all scrunched up and shorter so it's not a huge contrast!
I teamed it up with a pair of lace up wedges and a sequined jacket and being all lady like I am wearing this huge pearl necklace, which was another Xmas gift and a vintage snakeskin bag.

All my pictures were taken with my new Samsung Wave II phone, recently sent to me courtesy of Samsung for the NOW project, which I will tell you all about tomorrow.

Jacket: Topshop, Skirt: Vivienne Westwood, Wedges: Zara, Bag: Portobello Market, Rings; Primark and Vivienne Westwood.
